The Bible tells us to feed the hungry. Our food pantry is doing that daily. It usually serves over 500 families a week, but that number has been increasing since COVID-19. We pick up food from area grocery stores and the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.

Jersey City honored Mohan Bahadur on May 25, 2023, in conjunction with a flag-raising ceremony to commemorate Guyana's independence. City officials honored Mohan for his dedicated service to the community, including nearly 20 years as a volunteer for the St. Matthew's Lutheran Church food pantry, where he is the assistant director.
