Grace Church and St. Matthew’s and very likely other Jersey City houses of worship will have the privilege and joy of being able to spend Christmas Day with each other and our brothers and sisters who are food insecure. There are so many ways you can share your blessings:
(1) We need cooks who can bring food prepared with love (turkeys, hams, Mac n cheese, lasagna, veggies, cookies for decorating, desserts, etc, etc). We also need items that people who can’t cook can bring (like soda and disposable plates).
(2) We need folks from 9-1 who can help us set up, cook, and prepare. There will be a break for a quick worship service at Grace. Children are very much welcome—they will be decorating cookies.
(3) We need folks who visit with our guests and be good hosts—playing board games and chatting.
(4) We need folks from around 1-3, who can help us clean up the kitchen and gym afterwards.
Please look into your heart and talk to your families about what you can do very soon so the planning can get underway. Thanks much!
